Botanica by MOMIX
October 6th & 7th, 2011
In honor of the Garden City and spotlighted among ten pillar events at the Westobou Festival, Augusta Ballet will present two performances of Botanica by MOMIX dance theater. Emblematic of Augusta’s significant roots in art and medicine, Botanica magnificently portrays a marriage of art and life sciences capturing the Garden City’s spirit: earthly and otherworldly, at once a magnificent vision of the everyday miracles around us. Outstanding dance, costumes and music will set an exciting and ethereal scene to remember.

Ballet Hispanico

Currently one of the world’s most celebrated dance companies, Ballet Hispanico flawlessly blends classical ballet with en edge of contemporary, resulting in a new style of concert dance. The superb quality and creativity of Ballet Hispanico will inspire audiences about the athleticism of dance throughout Dance in the Garden City programming.

Master Classes
October 5, 2011 & March 15, 2012
For local dance students Augusta Ballet will provide Master Classes taught by renowned MOMIX and Ballet Hispanico instructors. Each class will include information on dancers’ health via the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.

Anyone Can Dance (& Cook) Camp
December 19-21, 2011
Formed in conjunction with the Food Network's number one charity Cooking Matters, a division of Share Our Strength, local dance instructors meet professional chefs teaching participants to move well, eat well and be well, affordably and for life.

Bike for the Ballet (B4B)
Summer 2012
Augusta Ballet will host its second annual Bike for the Ballet in collaboration with the Augusta Sports Council. This whimsical art-meets-sport event is the ONLY training ride for the ESi Ironman 70.3 Augusta. Tutu-clad cyclists throughout the Southeast will create a surreal downtown scene raising awareness of Augusta’s long-term outreach fighting childhood obesity. Following the ride we will host a special celebration dedicated to the athleticism of dance.

8th Annual Surreal Gala
Paying homage to the Garden City at its artistic and scientific core, Augusta Ballet will host its 8th annual gala, our most creative and exquisite celebration to date. Donors at appropriate levels may attend this event as part of season sponsorship.
